Measuring breaststroke with eo SwimBETTER in a 25-yard pool has some limitations.
- eo SwimBETTER does not count the pull-through as a stroke. Depending on hand direction at certain points, it may also miss the first breaststroke cycle.
- We need to detect three full stroke cycles to confirm a swim and return a complete data file. If the swimmer does three cycles plus a pull-through, and the first stroke isn’t recognised, the system will by definition generate a zero-data file.
There are two ways around this:
- Shorten your underwaters when testing breaststroke technique in a 25-yard pool.
- Do your breaststroke testing in a 50m pool, where the extra length allows eo SwimBETTER to capture enough strokes reliably.
